Programme notes:

‘Chroma’, a word used to describe the quality of colours, serves in this work as its title and an indication of the theme of this piece, which is an exploration of various melodic and harmonic combinations to produce a soundscape of colours, providing the audience a captivating listening journey.

The piece begins with a slow section which features harmonic layering, and is followed by a fast section with driving rhythm where the main theme is introduced, as well as a slow section that reinforces and reimagines the main theme. The piece concludes with a reprisal of the fast section with more melodic and rhythmic variations incorporated.
