In the spirit of free sharing as demonstrated by the original arranger, this pack is released for free. If you want to support my work, feel free to chip in any amount you desire! Your contribution is highly appreciated.
This pack contains the following:-
- Full Score PDF
- Part Scores PDF (Combined and individual)
- 320kbps MP3 audio demo produced with Muse Sounds orchestral plugin
- MIDI file and Braille file of full score
The original PDF files of the arrangement can be found in this website (http://www.finalfantasymusicscores.com/FFMS/CONCERTBAND.html). They are originally engraved with Encore, and the overall output to me is ... well ... less than ideal. Moreover, the original engraving has several issues that can cause confusion and inconvenience to the players.
This has motivated me to re-engrave the entire score using MuseScore 4, which is now known for its massively improved engraving quality.
This re-transcription has made the following edits:-
1. The instrument order of the full score is rearranged to more closely follow the usual convention of a concert band score. In particular, only one Euphonium (or Baritone Horn) part, which is in C and bass clef, is shown in the full score of this re-transcribed version. The treble-clef, Bb-transposed variant present in the original full score is still available as a part score.
2. Instead of being 'keyless' throughout the entire score, appropriate key signatures are added to sections of the piece that have a clear tonal centre. Some notes are also respelt enharmonically to fit the key.
3. Suggested dynamics and/or phrasings are added at certain points of the score, while keeping the suggestions as faithful to the original as possible.
4. Rehearsal marks and double barlines are added to more clearly indicate the change of sections.
5. Tempo markings of the original score are rewritten to more clearly indicate the pulses (as markings like 'Tempo 120' are ambiguous; it could either mean 120 quarter notes or dotted quarter notes per minute).
6. Other engraving improvements (rhythm groupings, text positioning, performance directions clarification, etc.).
7. A cover page is added for the full score.
